Prompts & Tips

Master ecomAssist with effective prompting techniques. Learn how to communicate with AI for better results, faster workflows, and more creative outputs.

The Art of Prompting

ecomAssist understands natural language, but certain techniques help you get better results faster. Think of it as having a conversation with a skilled colleague - the clearer your request, the better the outcome.

Golden Rules of Prompting

1. Be Specific About Your Goal

Vague: “Make this look better”

Specific: “Remove the background and place this watch on a marble surface with soft lighting”

2. Describe Your Product

Minimal: “Process this image”

Descriptive: “This is a men’s leather wallet, brown color. I want to show it in a lifestyle setting.”

3. Mention Your Use Case

Generic: “Create some images”

Purposeful: “I need images for my Shopify product page - one main image and 3 lifestyle shots”

4. Specify Quantity and Quality

Unspecified: “Generate some variations”

Clear: “Generate 4 images at 4K resolution for print materials”

Advanced Prompting Techniques

Chaining Requests

Ask for multiple operations in sequence:

"First, remove the background from this dress image. Then, show it on a female model with a beach background. Finally, create a 4-second video of the result."

ecomAssist will guide you through each step!

Reference-Based Prompts

Use references to describe what you want:

"Place this product in a setting similar to Apple product photography - clean, minimal, with soft shadows and gradient background."

Negative Prompts

Specify what you don’t want:

"Create a lifestyle shot for this lamp. Avoid: cluttered backgrounds, dark lighting, other products in frame."

Style Keywords

Use descriptive keywords for consistent results:

CategoryKeywords
Lightingsoft, dramatic, natural, studio, golden hour, backlit
Stylemodern, rustic, minimalist, luxury, vintage, industrial
Moodwarm, cool, energetic, calm, professional, playful
Settingstudio, outdoor, lifestyle, urban, nature, interior

Tool-Specific Tips

For Background Removal

Best Input: Product on a contrasting background (not same color as product)

  • Works best with clear product edges
  • Complex items (jewelry, lace) may need multiple attempts
  • Always preview before using in other tools

For Product Placement

Best Input: Product with transparent or removed background

  • Describe the scene in detail for better matches
  • Mention lighting direction if important
  • Request multiple variations to find the best fit

For Try-On Tools

Best Input: Flat-lay product images on white background

  • Front-facing garment images work best
  • Avoid images with mannequins or hangers
  • Specify model characteristics if needed

For Video Generation

Best Input: High-resolution, well-lit product images

  • Start with 4-second videos to test
  • Describe camera movement explicitly
  • Mention if you want slow motion or specific effects

Common Mistakes to Avoid

1. Being Too Vague

❌ “Make it look professional” ✅ “Use a clean white background with soft shadows”

2. Overcomplicating

❌ “Create an image with multiple products, various backgrounds, different lighting, rotating camera, with text overlay, and music” ✅ “Create a lifestyle shot of this single product in a modern setting”

3. Ignoring Image Quality

❌ Uploading blurry, dark, or watermarked images ✅ Using high-resolution, well-lit, clean product photos

4. Not Iterating

❌ Expecting perfect results on first try ✅ Using “Regenerate” and adjusting prompts based on results

Learning from AI Responses

Pay attention to how ecomAssist responds:

When AI Asks Questions

This means your prompt needs more detail:

AI: "What style of background would you prefer - modern, rustic, or minimal?"

→ Add style preferences to future prompts

When AI Suggests Alternatives

Consider the suggestions:

AI: "For this type of product, Product Placement might give better results than Style Cloning. Would you like to try that instead?"

→ AI knows which tools work best for different products

When Results Aren’t Perfect

Use feedback to improve:

You: "The lighting is too harsh in these results" AI: "I'll regenerate with softer, more diffused lighting. Here are new options..."

→ Describe what’s wrong, and AI will adjust
